About
I am currently a part-time doctoral researcher at Nottingham Trent University. I am interested in the discursive construction and negotiation of the contemporary masculine category 'metrosexual' and how this is achieved in relation to more conventional masculinities and other gendered identities. The ‘metrosexual’ data I draw on includes talk in a discussion forum, responses to a YouTube video, reader responses to a men’s online style magazine and focus group discussions. These are analysed using various discourse analytical methods.
