About
Ofelia Palermo's doctoral research focused on the implications of New Public Management and Modernization policies within the National Probation Service. Her interests emerging from that include:
- organizational identity
- organizational roles
- new control mechanisms and new forms of resistance
- the construction and interpretation of fear in organizations
Ofelia's collaboration with colleagues from the UK and from Italy expands her research interests also to:
- government-led entrepreneurial initiatives within the Public Sector
- organizational culture and values in small family firms' intergenerational succession
- gendered discourse in organizations.
In terms of research methodology, Ofelia particularly focuses on interpretive approaches.
